We tested the WinkBed luxury-firm and WinkBed plus mattresses to compare the two different firmness options. Our Reviews Team was impressed with how both performed.
WinkBed luxury-firm
Our testers gave the luxury-firm mattress a medium firmness rating (6.5/10). When lying on their back, testers felt gently cradled by the mattress. They sunk into the surface slightly, but the mattress never sagged due to the supportive innerspring coils. Testers felt comfortable and supported in most sleeping positions.
From our tester
“I feel like I’m lying more on top than in the luxury-firm mattress. When I first switch to a new position, there’s a little give, likely from the plush mattress top. The mattress doesn’t feel like it’s enveloping me once I’m in position.”
Our older-adult tester, Alfreda, said it was easy to switch positions with the support of the mattress’s responsive bounce. She never felt “stuck” or had to fight the quilted cover to move around. When lying on her back and side, Alfreda’s weight was evenly distributed on the mattress, and there were barely any signs of pressure buildup on our pressure map.
The pressure map shows all blue with a hint of green, signifying exceptional pressure relief. The more green you see, the more pressure the tester is experiencing.

The WinkBed luxury-firm may not be supportive enough for higher-weight (more than 250 pounds) sleepers. Sleepers looking for a very firm, durable mattress can choose the WinkBed plus.
WinkBed plus
The plus mattress is designed for sleepers weighing more than 300 pounds. It offers firm support for sleepers who may sink too deeply into the WinkBed soft, luxury-firm, or firmer mattresses. Our Reviews Team gave the WinkBed plus an 8/10 firmness rating.
While the mattress is firm, the surface didn’t feel hard or uncomfortable for testers. When our higher-weight tester lay on their back and side, their weight was evenly distributed in both positions. The pressure map showed no buildup in their back, shoulder, or hip areas.
When that same tester switched to lying on their stomach, the pressure map had a lot of red in the midsection area. Red indicates excessive pressure, which can be uncomfortable for sleepers since this area isn’t properly supported by the mattress.
While the WinkBed plus is great for some stomach sleepers, it may be uncomfortably firm for those with a larger midsection. Higher-weight stomach sleepers may want a firm mattress with a little more sinkage, such as the WinkBed firmer.
Edge support and motion isolation: Both mattresses have a strong, supportive edge and excellent motion isolation. We were especially impressed that a firm, responsive mattress like the WinkBed plus absorbs movement well.

The WinkBed GravityLux is an all-foam mattress with three firmness options: soft, medium, and firm. The mattress contains AirCell Memory Foam, a material exclusive to WinkBeds that’s designed to be more breathable than traditional memory foam. Like the original model, the GravityLux cover also contains a Tencel cover with gel infused foam for cooling.
The mattress foam has zoned support, meaning the firmness changes depending on the location. The foam in the lumbar region is firmer, while the foam near the shoulder area is softer.

Our testers were impressed with how supportive yet comfortable the GravityLux firm felt when lying on their stomachs. If you’re a stomach sleeper, you want your hips to stay upright and aligned with your spine—not sink into the mattress. The firm mattress supported our testers’ hips but also hugged them gently.

“I was surprised at how firm the GravityLux mattress is. Unlike other memory foam mattresses I’ve tested, I didn’t slowly sink into the surface. Instead, I immediately felt pressure relief with reinforced support from the firm foam.”
Our testers felt supported by the WinkBed mattress whenever they moved around or changed positions. They never felt stuck or sunken into the mattress, which is a common experience with foam mattresses.

The WinkBed EcoCloud is the brand’s eco-friendly mattress. This hybrid mattress contains organic cotton, wool, and Talalay latex—even the innerspring coils are made with recycled steel. On top of these sustainable materials being better for the environment, they have additional benefits. The organic cotton and wool in the mattress cover are naturally breathable, which helps keep the surface cool.
The Talalay latex layer is next. Talalay is more responsive than traditional memory foam but still contouring. The material’s microscopic holes promote airflow to help keep sleepers cool. Our expert take
The EcoCloud doesn’t offer multiple firmness options like other WinkBeds models. After testing the mattress, we rated it as medium-firm (6.5/10), which is the standard middle ground for mattresses. Our testers felt comfortable and supported when lying on their backs, without sinking deeply into the surface.
One tester reported that the mattress felt like a gentle hug but didn’t deeply contour their body. If you’re looking for a more plush and sinking feel from your mattress, the EcoCloud may not be the best option.
The mattress has a zoned support design, with firmer coils in the lower back region and softer coils in the shoulders and hips. Testers felt support from the zoned coils when lying on their backs and sides. The coils had enough give in the shoulders and hips to allow testers to comfortably sink into the mattress when lying on their sides.
We like that sleepers can switch between sleeping on their back or side and still feel supported by the mattress.

WinkBeds offers three distinct models of mattress: the WinkBed, GravityLux, and EcoCloud. The WinkBed and EcoCloud are both hybrid mattresses.
